Role Summary

The Manager, Loyalty Economics is responsible for defining and executing the analytics strategy for the economics of Alaska’s loyalty programs, including Atmos Rewards, the status holder program, co-branded credit cards, and communities. This role partners with senior leaders to translate loyalty strategy into measurable objectives, decision-ready insights, and scalable data products that improve member experience and drive profitable growth.  
 
As a people leader, this role leads and establishes priorities for the team, shapes team culture, and develops talent to solve complex, cross-functional commercial challenges. The Manager, Loyalty Economics is a high-visibility role on the loyalty leadership team and will have significant influence on the future of Alaska’s award-winning loyalty program and the cobrand program that generates $2B+ in annual revenues. 

Key Duties

  • Leads a team of ~5 analysts and establishes priorities to successfully execute the loyalty economics analytics strategy and roadmap. 
  • Partners with senior leadership on the development of loyalty analytic strategy, forecasts, tools, reports, and dashboards that solve complex commercial challenges and inform program design. 
  • Owns data inputs into holistic loyalty program and member-level P&L, ensuring methodologies, assumptions, and attribution approaches are transparent and decision-ready. 
  • Evaluates and recommends tradeoffs in program design (e.g., earn, burn, benefits, partner economics) to maximize member value, satisfaction, and long-term profitability. 
  • Produces statistical forecasts and scenario analyses for loyalty products to predict performance, set targets, and quantify risks/opportunities to the business. 
  • Acts as a data steward for core loyalty and loyalty partner datasets by defining/maintaining metric definitions, ensuring data quality and validity, and advocating for investments aligned with long-term business needs. 
  • Partners with Commercial Analytics and Information Technology Services on the development and enhancement of loyalty data marts, pipelines, and analytic tools, identifying opportunities to simplify, scale, and improve reliability. 
  • Develops and maintains a platform of self-service reporting and decision support tools; delivers insight-led storytelling and actionable recommendations that drive and sustain business performance. 
  • Leverages AI and advanced analytics to automate and improve data processes (e.g., data quality checks, anomaly detection, and pipeline monitoring) and to generate faster, deeper insights that inform loyalty strategy and program economics. 
  • Guides the team in advanced modeling, simulation, and optimization to improve program economics and inform strategic choices. 
  • Shapes team culture through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors; develops people through effective performance management, ongoing feedback, coaching, and delegation for stretch assignments. 

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required 

  • 5 years of business intelligence, loyalty, travel, commercial analytics, and/or related analytics experience. 
  • 2 years of leadership experience, leading projects, teams, or similar leadership/management. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in mathematics, economics, operations research, finance, statistics, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree. 
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership and communicating complex data insights in an understandable manner to management.  
  • Advanced experience working with relational databases (e.g., design, structure, and database management functions). 
  • Advanced SQL skills. 
  • Proven experience working with large, complex data sets and disparate data sources across various platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Databricks, Oracle, etc.). 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), with expert Excel skills. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  
  • Minimum age of 18. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

Preferred 

  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, optimization/simulation. 
  • Advanced skills in visualization techniques, dashboard design, decision support tools, and automation, with experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of descriptive statistics, correlation, linear regression, etc. in a business setting. 
  • Basic proficiency in at least one coding language (e.g., C++, C#, VBA, Python, R). 
  • Experience managing ambiguous problems and converting into actionable timelines / plans through other teams.

Salary Range

$120,400-$180,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
