THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE 

 As Principal, AI Solutions, you will lead a high‑impact, forward‑deployed AI solutions team responsible for turning enterprise AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of platform, product, and delivery, operating as the “last mile” of AI value creation across Fannie Mae. This team is embedded with business leaders, rapidly co‑building solutions, and feeding learnings back into the AI platform, core AI capabilities, and enterprise standards.

You will support enterprise AI productivity tooling strategy and enablement, and co‑built priority use cases, working with multidisciplinary team of AI solution leads, engineers, and domain specialists.

  • Co-built Enterprise Priority Use-cases: Partner directly with COO leadership and senior executives to identify, co‑design, and deliver high‑priority AI use cases. Lead hands‑on solution delivery—rapid prototyping, pilots, and scaled deployments. Act as a trusted AI delivery partner to the business, balancing speed with enterprise rigor.
  • Enterprise AI Productivity & Enablement: Support enterprise rollout, adoption, and value realization of AI productivity tools, Coding Agents, AI‑assisted development tools. Drive measurable productivity improvements across engineering, operations, and business teams.
  • AI Capabilities: Lead the AI solutions layer, translating platform capabilities into repeatable enterprise patterns. Establish standards, best practices, and reference implementations that scale across the enterprise.
  • AI Platform Feedback Loop: Serve as a critical feedback channel between real‑world use cases and the AI platform team. Translate solution learnings into platform and tooling requirements.

There is 1 opening for this position which can be based in our Reston VA, Plano TX, or Washington DC office. 

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM 

Minimum Required Experiences 

  • 8 years of experience across AI/ML, data platforms, or advanced analytics, with increasing leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience leading customer‑facing or forward‑deployed solution teams (FDE, solutions engineering, applied AI, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, high‑stakes enterprise solutions in regulated or risk‑sensitive environments
  • People leadership experience, including coaching, and performance mgmt..
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into deployable solutions
  • Executive‑level communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Deep understanding of AI productivity tools, LLMs, and automation patterns
  • Ability to balance speed, governance, and scalability in solution delivery

Desired Experiences 

  • Experience working with or alongside COO / Operations leadership
  • Familiarity with AI platforms, developer tooling and enterprise AI governance
  • Background in financial services, housing finance or large regulated firms
  • Experience influencing platform roadmaps through solution delivery insights

The hiring range for this role is set forth below.
