Job Description
The Vice President, Corporate Real Estate & Enterprise Workplace is responsible for the leadership, long-term strategic planning, direction, and execution of the end-to-end real estate and facilities workplace strategy at Fannie Mae. This leader is directly responsible for translating business-mission objectives into a comprehensive workplace strategy, while also providing oversight and fiduciary controls for facility asset management and operations. Lastly, as VP, they will lead a large team (40+) of professionals and external vendors that are responsible for the delivery of all activities related to Fannie Mae's corporate real estate portfolio and facilities services consisting of Fannie Mae's home office facilities in Washington, DC, Northern VA, Plano, Texas, and other regional offices across the country.
Oversee planning, acquisition, installation, moves, and maintenance of corporate-wide facilities, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, including management of activities.
Negotiate complex (domestic) corporate real estate lease agreements and own maintenance of associated contracts.
Develop a workplace strategy for Fannie Mae's real estate that optimizes workforce productivity; lead enterprise-wide and third-party resources to deliver that strategy on time and on budget.
Shape a workplace strategy that enhances the in-office employee experience and promotes collaboration.
Champion the strategic exploration, adoption, and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance workplace operations, improve decision-making, and drive innovation across the Corporate Real Estate function.
Partner with Corporate Risk Management to best understand and make key risk decisions.
Serve as a strategic partner to Internal Communications, Technology and Human Resources to develop and execute integrated workplace initiatives that enhance employee engagement, strengthen organizational culture, support organizational change, and ensure alignment with enterprise business objectives.
Deliver best-in-class workplace hospitality services and operations for all locations including meeting/event services for event planning, food service, mailroom, audio-visual support, custodial, corporate receptionist/switchboard, shipping, receiving and supplies management.
Establish effective processes to monitor, inspect, and maintain all buildings and equipment to ensure efficient operation of utility systems (mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, etc.)
Serve as liaison to senior management and regulatory agency (FHFA) on all Real Estate and Facilities matters.
Show curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.
10+ years of related experience; at least 7+ years in a leadership capacity.
Experience in a workplace or real estate leadership position managing a complex office portfolio, ideally 10+ offices.
Demonstrated experience in corporate real estate and facilities management, with a strong foundation in finance, legal, or civil engineering/construction management.
A sharp strategic acumen and experience building a multi-year real estate strategy.
Exceptional influencing, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive outcomes across large, complex, cross-functional organizations.
A background at a large, complex organization and partnering with a variety of areas including Finance, Legal, HR, Technology Enterprise Risk, and Procurement.
Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.
Extensive experience building, coaching, and developing large teams to achieve organizational goals and drive business performance.
Education Level (Required): Bachelor's Degree or Equivalency in years of work experience; Master or Other Advanced Degree
Target Pay Range: $250,000 - 350,000

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
