Electronic Options Sales – Executive Director

Job Description

This role sits within the Equity Derivative Sales team in a dynamic, fast-paced front-office trading floor environment. As an execution sales specialist, you will drive client adoption of J.P. Morgan Chase’s electronic options execution capabilities while also representing the broader equity derivatives franchise. You will own and deepen relationships with institutional and hedge fund clients, matching our liquidity, execution workflows, and product suite to their needs, and partnering closely with Trading, Strats/Quant, Product, Research, and Coverage to shape the direction of our electronic options offering.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Client engagement & SME coverage: Manage and grow relationships with institutional and hedge fund clients, acting as a subject-matter expert across electronic options execution and listed options market structure.
  • Day-to-day coverage & execution: Support client requests for market updates and execution; coordinate with trading and product development to execute options and volatility-related flow efficiently across electronic workflows while maintaining excellent client service.
  • Trade ideas & distribution: Pitch options/volatility trade ideas , updates to algo offerings, market structure and other market color that leads to increased adoption of our electronic option platform; deliver relevant market color and desk themes tailored to client objectives.
  • Business strategy & product partnership: Partner with Product and internal stakeholders to anticipate regulatory and market change, and translate client and market feedback into execution-workflow and platform development priorities.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Work seamlessly with other EDG Coverage partners, Product, Trading, Strats/Quant, and Research teams to optimize the end-to-end client experience and balance client, firm, and internal priorities.
  • Market intelligence & insight: Gather client and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and risks; share insights internally to inform sales strategy, product roadmap, and go-to-market plans.
  • Risk discipline & controls: Understand the firm’s approach and policies for managing risk and comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements; ensure internal controls are followed and support the post-trade process by ensuring accuracy of entries and timely issue resolution.
  • Industry presence & franchise building: Represent J.P. Morgan Chase at client meetings, industry events, and forums; contribute to external messaging aligned to business priorities.
  • Content & thought leadership: Tailor and distribute content and trade themes to targeted accounts to drive engagement and position the firm as a market leader in electronic options.

Product scope (typical)

  • Electronic listed options execution (single-name and index options; agency and risk transfer workflows as applicable)
  • Coordination with adjacent offerings (e.g., high touch equity derivative sales or electronic equity sales) in partnership with specialist sales and trading teams


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Significant front-office markets experience (typically 8–12+ years), with demonstrated success in equity derivatives and/or electronic execution sales
  • Strong command of options and volatility fundamentals (Greeks, volatility, skew, term structure, event risk) and fluency in market/product language (pricing intuition, execution performance analysis, client analytics/MIS)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive client engagement, and deliver consultative execution solutions
  • Deep knowledge of relevant market structure and electronic execution workflows; ability to explain microstructure dynamics and anticipate market impacts
  • Strong relationship management, communication, and influencing skills; ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and defend ideas with clarity
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with other internal partners in order to through sell and leverage the firm to maximize client adoption 
  • Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and highly motivated; thrives under competitive pressure while staying client-focused
  • Strong control mindset; understands risk types and can discuss practical approaches to risk management and escalation
  • Bachelor’s degree required (relevant field preferred)
  • Active FINRA registrations (e.g., SIE, Series 7, Series 57, Series 63) or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame, depending on role requirements and location

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Existing institutional and/or hedge fund relationships in electronic listed options / volatility markets
  • Experience partnering with Product/Strats on workflow automation, analytics, distribution tooling, or go-to-market strategy
  • Familiarity with leading execution connectivity and workflows (e.g., EMS/OMS integrations, FIX connectivity) as relevant to electronic options
  • Demonstrated experience working well with internal partners
