Job Summary

Phlebotomist PT Nights – 32 hrs/wk
Schedule: 4–8 hour night shifts, Monday–Friday, with every third weekend rotation.
Salary Range: $20.25 - $31.09 per hour; Pay based on experience
Sign-On Bonus: $3,000

Essential Functions
• Draw blood for testing, transfusions, donations, and research.
• Explain blood collection procedures to patients and assist with the care and recovery of patients experiencing adverse reactions.
• Perform venipuncture using vacuum tubes, syringes, or butterfly collection methods.
• Perform capillary blood collection using dermal puncture techniques, including heel and finger sticks.
• Properly dispose of contaminated sharps in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and organizational policies.
• Properly dispose of blood, biohazardous fluids, and tissue in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and organizational policies.
• Accurately enter patient, specimen, insurance, and billing information into the computer system.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of various techniques in collecting specimens.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA Regularities and an ability to maintain absolute discretion over highly sensitive patient information.
- Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
- Superior customer service skills, clear communications skills, and ability to show empathy and respect for patients' privacy and autonomy.
- Knowledge and practice of proper aseptic techniques necessary to prevent injury to self and patients.
